We’re delighted to announce this year’s JRA Day raffle. This year we have three prizes - a platter by John Glick, a brooch by Jan Maddox, and a sculpture by Tim Tate. The total value of the prizes is more than $1,250.

About the Raffle Artists
John Glick
John Glick graduated from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 1962, and opened his private gallery, Plum Tree Pottery, in 1965. Although he made conceptual ceramic sculptures, much of his work has been focused on the art and craft of functional vessels and their incorporation into the rituals of daily life. He currently is the subject of a retrospective exhibition that includes more than 250 pieces at Cranbrook Academy, which runs through March 12, 2017. Click here for his website.
Jan Maddox
Jan Maddox creates jewelry as a wearable art form. Her most recent work includes disc and square brooches in sterling and 18K gold as well as a series of colored pencil drawings framed in sterling. Her distinctive double rings approach the idea of a ring from a different direction, incorporating ancient forms and contemporary fashions. In different ways, these all reflect the two dominant areas of her career at Montgomery County teaching design/crafts and art history. Click here for her website.
Tim Tate
Tim Tate is co-founder of the Washington Glass School and Studio. Tim’s work is in the permanent collection of a number of museums, including the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Mint Museum. He has been profiled in American Style, American Craft, and Sculpture magazines. Blending a traditional craft with new media technology gives him the framework in which he fits his artistic narrative. Click here for his website.
