Laura Peery

Ceramics

Laura Peery’s work is rooted in memories of a New Orleans dress shop, “College Frocks,” owned by her grandmother, where she first experienced the power of pattern, color, texture and form. Her work explores ways clay objects, manipulated to resemble fabric or leather, can tell a story. Her work is regularly shown in galleries and museums, and is part of permanent collections at the Smithsonian, Fuller Art and Cameron Art Museums.
