Laura Peery

Ceramics

Laura Peery’s work is inspired by memories of her grandmother’s New Orleans dress shop and the hours she spent in the attic of “College Frocks” where the alterations were made. Her whimsical teapots have working lids and glazed interiors, but offer just the possibility of function rather than the promise. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian American Art Museum (SAAM), the Fuller Museum of Craft and is exhibited in galleries throughout the country.
